JDS Energy & Mining came to us to help evolve an existing brand with real equity behind it. Their logo, designed by the founder himself, already carried years of trust, so we didn’t want to throw that away just to put our own stamp on something new.

Instead, we redesigned it based on that foundation and legacy. Kept the DNA. It was about honouring where they came from while building a brand that could carry them forward with more than just a fresh coat of paint.

The assignment was not to erase what people already recognized. It was to sharpen the brand around what made JDS different: practical expertise, field-tested confidence, and a get-it-done culture that clients already trusted.

From there, we put the brand through the full strategic process: competitive analysis, market discovery, key messaging, content pillars, and personas for both JDS’s diverse client base and future talent. The result was a real market strategy, not just a visual refresh.

The visual identity is rooted in real Canadian grit: a new bold legacy mark, rock textures pulled straight from the ground they work in, and a tone of voice that sounds like it’s standing next to you on a job site, not hiding behind a PR department. Straight-talking. No corporate jargon.

“We get it done” isn’t just a tagline for JDS. It’s the operation: how they work, how they think, and how the brand now shows up. Straight shooters who trust their gut as much as their expertise. You probably won’t meet a more grounded team.

Then there was the website: 350+ pages of sprawl that needed gutting. We rebuilt it around a new web strategy and specific goals instead of cramming everything online because it existed. Now, those goals are being met.

We get it done. So did we.
